* Pay Rate: $45.74 per hour + super
* Work Pattern:
o 2–3 days per week during university semesters
o Full-time during university holidays
About the Role
APG Workforce is currently seeking an Undergraduate Student Engineer (Civil) for a government-based opportunity in Nerang, Queensland.
This role is ideal for a 2nd or 3rd year Civil Engineering student looking to gain hands-on experience in road infrastructure, asset management, and heavy vehicle permitting within a professional engineering environment.
Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you will support the coordination and delivery of heavy vehicle permits and contribute to infrastructure design, construction, and maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the assessment and administration of heavy vehicle permits
* Support workflow processes to ensure compliance and efficient delivery
* Identify potential issues with transport routes and assist with solutions
* Contribute to road and bridge maintenance planning and activities
* Assist with material quantity calculations and analysis of test results
* Support risk assessments and identification of non-conformances
* Assist in managing small projects or project components under supervision
* Ensure adherence to quality management procedures
* Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders
About You
* Currently enrolled in 2nd or 3rd year Bachelor of Engineering (Civil)
(Must be Washington Accord accredited)
* Strong interest in road infrastructure and asset management
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively
* Willingness to learn and develop in a government engineering environment
Mandatory Requirements
* Current enrolment in an accredited Civil Engineering degree
* Valid Class C Driver’s Licence
* Ability to complete pre-employment checks (including criminal history)
