Job Title: Maintenance Services Professional
About the Position
The Shire is seeking a highly skilled and experienced maintenance services professional to carry out general maintenance tasks in our residential buildings and facilities.
* The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking scheduled, preventative and ad-hoc tasks including carpentry, fabrication, painting and handman duties as directed by the Coordinator Assets (Buildings), in an efficient and professional manner;
* Conduct day-to-day building maintenance activities on Shire owned assets such as residential properties, recreation and sporting facilities, community buildings and public amenities;
* Identify and report all structural and maintenance issues to the Coordinator Assets (Buildings);
* Perform gardening duties including mowing, fertilising, planting, pruning, edging, reticulation maintenance and weed control;
* Report graffiti to the Coordinator Assets (Building) and ensure rapid removal;
* Deliver and/or remove furniture and equipment to and from Shire owned assets as required;
* Conduct pre-start inspections of plant and equipment daily, and report any faults or defects;
* Maintain a quarterly register of equipment in the allocated service vehicle;
* Utilise a variety of tools and equipment in a safe and competent manner in accordance with manual handling procedures;
* Proactively undertake regular inspections of Shire owned building assets and determine priorities in conjunction with the Coordinator Assets (Buildings);
* Organise and prioritise competing tasks and work both autonomously and as part of a team when required;
* Liaise professionally with internal and external stakeholders, obtain quotes and ensure outcomes are met in a timely manner;
* Takes responsibility to ensure quality of services meet the expectations of the organisation; and
* Undertake any other duties, as reasonably assigned, by the Coordinator Assets (Buildings).
Requirements

* A high level of physical fitness and ability to lift heavy loads;
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
* Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment;
* Basic knowledge of carpentry, fabrication and painting;
* Reliable transportation to and from worksites;
* A clean driving record and willingness to drive company vehicles.
