Youth Empowered Towards Independence (YETI) is a support agency offering a range of voluntary AOD and other services for young people aged 12‑25 living in Far North Queensland. We deliver flexible, youth‑friendly, culturally safe, and harm‑minimisation focused support, including counselling, case management, outreach and drop‑in programs from in Cairns.

We are seeking experienced Youth Support Workers to join our passionate Casual pool where you'll be rostered onto shifts spanning Monday to Saturday, with a variety of times and work types potentially available across YETI, for example:

* Day Program operates 9am to 1pm Monday to Friday
* Community Youth Response & Diversionary operates Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings 4pm to 10pm
* Youth transport 8am to 3pm Monday to Friday

To apply to join our Casual pool, you will have:

1. Tertiary and/or vocational qualification/s in a relevant discipline, or studying towards
2. Current students studying towards relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply
3. Experience working with young people with an understanding of, and sensitivity to, the needs and issues facing young people with significant trauma backgrounds, complex needs/issues and high-risk behaviours. A minimum of 1 year experience working with young people facing complexities is required.
4. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and culture, and an understanding of the diverse circumstances and issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
5. A current Qld driver's licence

Successful applicants must also meet the following criteria:

* Eligibility for a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or exemption based on professional qualifications and registration.
* Evidence of eligibility to legally work in Australia.
