About the role
The Head of Commercial & Contracts is a key leadership role focused on driving sustainable growth and strengthening organisational capability. This position is responsible for enhancing commercial practices across the organisation, leading the fee-for-service capability uplift project, and managing the pipeline process. You will develop and implement commercial strategies that deliver growth, increase value and impact, and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
As part of the Finance Leadership Team, the Head of Commercial & Contracts contributes to achieving strategic outcomes, ensuring financial sustainability, and positioning Red Cross positively within the community.
About you
Commercial Expertise: Deep knowledge of commercial environments, fee-for-service models, and complex contract management, with strong business acumen and financial skills to manage budgets, monitor performance, and deliver savings.
Strategic Leadership: Proven experience in senior leadership roles within high-performing environments, including providing strategic advice to executives, boards, and government stakeholders, and leading organisational transformation and process improvement.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to interpret complex information, apply critical thinking, and develop creative solutions that enhance organisational performance and sustainability.
People & Culture Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, foster collaboration, and build a culture of inclusion, growth, and adaptability, while modelling self-leadership and emotional intelligence.
Communication & Relationship Management: Exceptional negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust and act as a 'trusted advisor' to internal and external stakeholders.
Digital & Adaptive Capability: Comfortable with technology and committed to leveraging digital tools for efficiency, while embracing agility and innovation to challenge conventional approaches.
Qualifications/Licenses
Required:
CPA or CA.
Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or other relevant stream.
Desirable:
Postgraduate qualifications in Leadership or Management.
Qualifications in a business improvement methodology such as lean six sigma.
Advanced MS Excel skills are essential, and Power Bi and D365 knowledge.
