**The Role**
This newly created role is a fantastic opportunity for a creative individual, with strong expertise in joinery design, to become part a continually growing team and provide ideas, insight, and structure as part of the organisations ongoing growth and commitment to remaining leaders in their industry. The role will work collaboratively with the existing design team to drive the continual improvement of the design library, whilst also focusing on the fine tuning of other systems and processes that aid the drafting and overall project delivery timeframes and outcomes. Utilising the Microvellum software, you will draw on your experience and creative flair to take the lead on bespoke joinery design solutions for projects on a large and small scale.
As a Draftsperson with Capital Design Works, it will be important that you offer strong communication skills and enjoy working within an open and collaborative environment and are able to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders including the factory foreman, cabinet makers and sales staff. There will also be direct interface with customers to discuss design concepts.
Your responsibilities will include, but is not limited to:
- Utilising the Microvelllum software for all drawings.
- Creation and continual improvement of the organisation's design library.
- Task management through the Simpro CRM system.
- Daily communication and project progress updates with all key stakeholders.
- Take the lead on new initiatives to enhance project delivery timeframes.
- Provide mentoring support to both the design team and other staff.
- Advise and consult customers on project design concepts.
**Skills & Requirements**
To be suitable for this role you will:
- Demonstrate existing experience in joinery or fit out drafting roles.
- Possess strong time management the ability to create and action task lists.
- Have well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Be confident, articulate, and able to problem solve whilst working under pressure.
- Energetic, enthusiastic and show a pro-active attitude to your work.
- Have a high proficiency in the use of Microvellum and CRM software.
- Possess a valid Australian working visa.
- Demonstrate a balance of creativity and structure.
