We are seeking an experienced (plant) Production Manager to oversee the team and operations of our chemical manufacturing facility in Adelaide, SA.
This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
The successful candidate will lead a skilled team, ensuring the efficient and safe production of chemicals while adhering to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage a team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure professional growth and performance optimization.
Monitor daily manufacturing operations, including batch processing, reaction monitoring, and equipment maintenance, to ensure the consistent production of high-quality products.
Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, operational procedures, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment and compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that products meet the specified quality standards, conducting regular checks and audits to maintain product integrity.
Continuously seek opportunities to optimize production processes, reduce waste, increase efficiency, and enhance overall plant performance.
Lead troubleshooting efforts during equipment breakdowns, process deviations, or other operational issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolution.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production activities, process changes, safety incidents, and other relevant data to support regulatory compliance and future analysis.
Foster open and effective communication channels between the production team, management, and other relevant departments to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Identify training needs and opportunities for continuous skill development within the plant technician team, promoting a culture of learning and growth.

Qualifications and Skills
Relevant qualification with 2 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a minimum of 5 years of experience in management, leadership, and chemical manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of chemical processes and equipment operations within a manufacturing environment.
In-depth understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and quality assurance standards applicable to chemical manufacturing.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team of technicians.
Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a track record of resolving operational issues effectively.
