Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a dedicated and culturally grounded Raypirri Rom Support Worker to support male Community Workers within the Raypirri Rom Programs. Working closely with the Male Team Leader, this role provides mentoring, practical support and coordination assistance to ensure services are delivered in a culturally safe and strengths-based way, grounded in Yolŋu values and protocols. The position will assist with community initiatives such as wellbeing camps, support groups and education activities across the Gove Peninsula, while collaborating with Elders and senior Yolŋu staff to promote safe outcomes for individuals, families and children. This is an opportunity to contribute to early intervention and prevention work, strengthen the Yolŋu workforce, and support positive change within community.

Ability to Salary Package up to $15,900pa plus a further $2,650pa on Meals and Entertainment

About Miwatj
Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we're committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
Essential Requirements
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, along with insight into the challenges faced by Yolŋu people living in remote communities. You will hold formal training in Community Services and/or have at least one year's experience working with Aboriginal people in a remote setting, with a willingness to undertake further relevant training. Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to maintain accurate records and reports, and personal qualities such as reliability, honesty, cultural awareness and motivation are essential. A current NT Driver's Licence is required. The ability to speak a local Aboriginal language, knowledge of kinship systems, and experience working with social and emotional wellbeing, counselling, case management or community-based responses to family and domestic violence and alcohol and drug-related harm will be highly regarded.
