The Role
Reporting to the Coordinator Building Surveyor and based in Windsor NSW, the Senior Building Surveyor position is available on a temporary full-time basis. This role provides an efficient and effective service in relation to certification work, fire safety and development assessment to ensure that development achieves Council’s objectives. You may encounter constraints such as bushfire, flooding, heritage, landslip, threatened species, koala habitat and acid sulphate soils. You will need a strong work ethic and be willing to take on challenges. Opportunities exist for process improvements and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide certification, fire safety and development assessment services to ensure development achieves Council objectives.
- Support process improvements and participate in special projects as needed.
Essential Criteria
- Tertiary qualification in building surveying, environmental health or equivalent
- Extensive relevant experience in development assessment including complex developments
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 and Local Government Act 1993 and associated legislation and regulations
- Registered as a Building Certifier with Fair Trading NSW
- Demonstrated computer skills
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
- The right to live and work in Australia
- WHS General Construction Work in NSW
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Successful applicants will be required to undergo background (police) checks and medical declaration
Salary and Benefits
- Full-Time Temporary position until 31/01/2027
- Salary Range $103k - $124k per annum
- 9 Day Fortnight
