Project Overview:
Bechtel has a long history of helping customers complete complex projects in various industries. We have successfully completed over 25,000 projects in 160 countries on all seven continents.
The project includes the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of three new bucket-wheel reclaimers, along with associated structural, mechanical, electrical, and communications services. Additionally, it encompasses the design and construction of related off-board scope, such as bulk earthworks, civil infrastructure, structural works, and electrical upgrades to ensure safe operation of the new reclaimers.
This project will be executed in the Karratha/Dampier region of Western Australia, where the local team or Fly-In/Fly-Out (FIFO) personnel from Perth will work on a 2:1 roster.
Job Summary:
The Field Lead Planner will collaborate with the project team to prepare schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations. They will apply established unit job hour and pricing data, perform schedule integrations, create work logic, identify constraints and potential impacts, develop recovery plans, and assess subcontractor schedules for improvements.
This role requires ensuring that projects remain on track and on time.
Main Responsibilities:
* Preparing schedule data for proposals or contract negotiations
* Applying established unit job hour and pricing data for a specific discipline or specialty, including estimating parameters, factors, indices, productivity, and craft distribution reference data
* Integrating individual schedules into the total project plan
* Creating performing organization's work logic in support of overall project schedule
* Scheduling resource loading and leveling
* Maintaining open communication with other organizations to support schedule maintenance and reporting
* Identifying and reporting activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule
* Evaluating subcontractor schedules for required workarounds or potential schedule improvements
Education and Experience Requirements:
The role requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience, or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
* Demonstrated expertise in directing technical and non-technical personnel, with proven skills in oral and written communication.
* Able to present Project Controls information effectively to management and clients.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities.
* In-depth knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup processes performed by Bechtel.
* Proficiency in current industry and technical developments.
