This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, **** One Arm Point Remote Community School (OAPRCS) is a Kindergarten to Year 12 (K-12) school in Ardyaloon (One Arm Point), an Aboriginal community 210km north of Broome on the Dampier Peninsula in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia.

The Role We are actively seeking a Primary Teacher with exceptional interpersonal skills, a natural ability to communicate effectively and foster genuine relationships with parents, students, and colleagues.
As a Primary Teacher you would promptly establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment, setting high expectations and cultivating a growth mindset, while nurturing students' social and emotional development through the Zones of Regulation framework.
Ideally, you will exhibit exemplary teaching skills, with a strong behaviour management, trauma-informed practice and experience with English as a Second Language/Dialect (EAL/D) learners.
OAPRCS staff are highly engaged with Community and participate in a range of extra-curricular activities that build and strengthen relationships in and out of school.
As a Teacher at OAPRCS, you would work closely with Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers (AIEOs) and other Community members to design and deliver high-impact teaching programs, camps and other engaging learning opportunities that focus on whole-child growth.
As we are not a Kimberley Schools Project (KSP) school, a member of our team delivers our school-wide suite of programs and resources in Literacy.
As a Primary Teacher, you will ideally have experience delivering Phonemic Awareness programs such as Cracking the Code, Heggerty's and Letters and consent to a and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
