Located in Ulverstone (NW Region)

About the Role

Our Inspire at Home program supports young people aged 12-18 in residential placements. Therapeutic House Leads have a vital role to ensure that the young people in residential placements receive the supports they need to thrive.

Therapeutic House Leads have a passion for promoting the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of young people. They play a vital role in mentoring the Youth Workers in their team to support children and young people to live their best life.

Supports provided to our young people are focused on the domains of the Tasmanian Child and Youth Wellbeing Framework - being loved and safe, having material basics, being healthy, learning, participating, and having a positive sense of culture and identity.

Key Responsibilities

As a Therapeutic House Lead you will be responsible for supporting a team of youth workers, collaborating with Placement Leads and Therapeutic Specialists and working with young people to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people in our care.

Therapeutic House Leads will:

* Work with Placement Leads to maintain compliance with the relevant child safety legislation and regulation, as well as organisational policy and procedures.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, families, and young people.
* Implement therapeutic plans and safety plans in collaboration with the Placement Leads and Therapeutic Specialists.
* Support Youth Workers to deliver a child centred service that promotes wellbeing and safety.
* Support Youth Workers to maintain workplace health and safety checks, cleanliness of the property, and compliance checking.
* Maintaining accurate and up to date records and ensure all required documentation is completed.
* Facilitating team meetings and professional development activities.
* Provide the day-to-day care of all children in the residential care setting and participate in appropriate recreational activities for and with the children.
* Delegate tasks within the residential care setting.

About You

As the Therapeutic House lead you will be required to hold a Certificate IV in Youth Work or Community Service or related field. Experience in a similar position is desirable but not essential. To be successful in the role you will be required to demonstrate:

* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and competent in building relationships with young people.
* Experience working in a team environment that has delivered client-centred services that achieve positive outcomes for clients.
* Ability to handle challenges and problem solve.
* Ability to ensure that client documentation, reports and service delivery targets are completed to the required standards.
* Ability to respond to staff grievances and disciplinary matters in consultation with Placement Leads and provide supervision responsibilities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office, email, and web-based applications.
* Capability to ensure that appropriate client records and data are maintained.
* Availability to participate in on-call roster.

Essential Requirements

* Satisfactory National Police Check (check result within 12 months)
* Current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Card
* Current Tasmanian driving licence, and
* Current Provide First Aid training certificate or willing to obtain.
