We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join our Brisbane-based team in a multifaceted role that goes beyond conventional procurement. This is a unique opportunity for a strategic thinker who can drive value creation, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimise our supply chain operations across our three business divisions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Supply Chain Management
- Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with business objectives
- Manage end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring optimal inventory levels and delivery performance
- Identify and execute value creation opportunities and cost reduction initiatives
- Analyse market trends and supplier capabilities to build robust supplier networks
- Coordinate sourcing, transport, and inventory management of materials and products
- Build and maintain strong relationships with domestic and international suppliers
- Evaluate and select suppliers using criteria including quality, price, delivery, and sustainability
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to achieve optimal outcomes
- Monitor supplier performance and implement improvement strategies
- Manage relationships with suppliers across the Asia-Pacific region
- Facilitate effective cross-cultural communication and business practices
- Conduct spend analysis and develop category management strategies
- Prepare detailed procurement reports and cost analysis
- Support budget planning and forecasting activities
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement with operational needs
Experience & Education
- Minimum 5+ years of senior-level procurement experience
- Tertiary qualifications in related fields will be well regarded
- Proven track record in strategic procurement and supplier management
- Experience in electrical/control/automation distribution or manufacturing industry preferred
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles and best practices
- Proficiency in procurement systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with contract management and commercial negotiations
- Analytical skills with ability to interpret data and market trends
- Knowledge of procurement laws, regulations, and compliance requirements
