ALIGA is a Gold Coast-based engineering and project management consultancy delivering outcomes for public sector and local government clients across QLD and NSW. We’re looking for an experienced RPEQ Senior Engineer to support a major government infrastructure programme on the Gold Coast.This is a hands-on role suited to a senior engineer who enjoys leading design development, mentoring designers, and providing RPEQ certification for civil road projects.The roleYou’ll work alongside an established in-house engineering and design team, overseeing the development of concept and detailed designs and providing RPEQ certification for completed design packages. Projects will range from smaller road safety and network improvements through to larger intersection and upgrade works.Key responsibilitiesProvide direct technical oversight and supervision to designers delivering civil road concept and detailed designsProvide RPEQ certification / sign-off for detailed design deliverablesEnsure designs meet relevant Queensland road authority requirements, Austroads, and applicable Australian StandardsDrive value-for-money outcomes and practical, buildable designsPrepare or review pavement and surfacing (seal) designs and associated documentationContribute to technical reports and design deliverables (e.g., design development / design estimate style reporting as required)Review project estimates, specifications and delivery documentation where requiredLiaise with internal/external stakeholders and attend meetings and site inspections as neededWhat we’re looking for (must-have)RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) – essentialStrong background in civil road design and project delivery (concept through to detailed design)Demonstrated capability in design assurance / design review and producing certifiable outcomesSound working knowledge of contemporary standards, guidelines and best practice for road infrastructureStrong communication skills and confidence working with multi-disciplinary stakeholdersAble to meet the minimum onsite attendance requirement (3 days per week in Gold Coast)Desirable (nice-to-have)Experience working in or with government road authorities / councilsExperience mentoring designers and improving team design quality and consistencyFamiliarity with common road design workflows and tools (platform flexible)Working arrangementPart-time engagement, with a minimum 3 days per week onsite in NerangHybrid work may be available for up to 2 days/week depending on programme needsSuccessful candidate will be required to undergo relevant pre-engagement checks (including criminal history check where applicable)How to applyApply via LinkedIn or send your CV (and a brief note on availability and Gold Coast onsite capacity) to info@aliga.com.au.
