The Opportunity This is a leadership opportunity for a senior cyber professional who wants to shape cyber maturity, not just maintain it. You will combine hands‑on technical delivery and GRC capability with advisory influence, guiding clients through security uplift programs while strengthening internal standards and capability.
This role blends delivery, governance, advisory, and mentoring, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both deep technical work and stakeholder engagement.
The Role As a Senior Cyber Security Consultant, you will lead the design and implementation of security controls across client environments, aligning solutions to recognised frameworks and government standards.
You will act as a technical leader, escalation point, and trusted advisor — translating complex cyber concepts into practical, client-friendly guidance.
Lead implementation of cyber security controls and uplift programs
Deliver large‑scale Essential Eight uplift programs
Scope and plan security initiatives across cloud and on‑prem
Lead ISO 27001 compliance and certification activities
Conduct security assessments and framework alignment
Provide governance, risk and compliance advisory
Mentor engineers and uplift team capability
Prepare executive‑level reports and recommendations
Act as escalation point for incidents and investigations
Support audit and remediation projects
Collaborate with senior engineers on uplift programs
The Ideal Person You are an experienced cyber security professional with a strong balance of technical capability, consulting expertise, and stakeholder engagement skills. You thrive in fast‑paced environments, enjoy solving complex security challenges, and can confidently communicate with both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
You will ideally bring experience across consulting, MSP, enterprise, or multi‑client environments and possess strong knowledge of contemporary cyber frameworks and controls.
You will have experience delivering Essential Eight uplift programs, implementing technical security controls, and aligning environments to frameworks including ISM, PSPF, ISO 27001, NIST CSF and SOCI across Microsoft 365, Azure and AWS ecosystems.
You will have technical capability across SIEM, EDR, IAM, DLP and vulnerability management with strong client-facing consulting, reporting and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead multiple cyber uplift initiatives simultaneously and translate complex security concepts into practical business outcomes.
Salary / Rate
$130k – $180k + Super, depending on the experience
