Experimental Condensed Matter Physics Academic Position
This academic appointment combines research and teaching at UNSW Canberra, specifically in the School of Science.
Key Responsibilities:
* Courses and Programs: Design and deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses and programs related to experimental condensed matter physics.
* Research Program: Develop and maintain an active, high-quality research program in experimental condensed matter physics.
* Publishing and Grant Applications: Publish high-quality research outputs, prepare grant applications, and supervise students in experimental condensed matter physics.
* Techncology and Curriculum Development: Contribute to curriculum development and innovative teaching methods, including educational technologies and online delivery.
* Engagement and Partnerships: Engage with industry and the profession, build partnerships, and pursue funding for learning and teaching initiatives.
* Administration: Participate in School administration and contribute to the collegial life of the School of Science.
Requirements:
* PhD in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics: PhD in experimental condensed matter physics or a related discipline.
* Cryogenic Techniques: Expertise in cryogenic techniques and measurements at low temperatures.
* Demonstrated Track Record: Demonstrated track record in experimental condensed matter physics research.
* Student Support and Inspiration: Evidence of ability to support and inspire students.
* Teaching Experience: Experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, including course development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.
* Educational Technologies: Experience implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods.
* Curriculum Development: Experience in initiating curriculum development and improvement.
* Industry Interaction: Ability to interact with the profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications for Associate Professor Level D:
* Industry Experience: Experience with industry or work-integrated learning.
* Leadership Aspirations: Significant track record in research leadership with high-quality, internationally impactful outcomes and ongoing leadership aspirations.
* Partnerships and Engagement: Leadership in building engagement and partnerships with the profession and industry.
