Our client is a regional based, member owned credit union with their head office based in Shepparton, Victoria. They are a purpose based, not for profit financial institution, with a focus on serving their members and community - and supporting them with financial services and products that meet their ongoing needs.
Reporting directly to the CEO and as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team (SLT), the CFO is responsible for the provision of comprehensive financial and strategic information to the CEO, SLT and Board, whilst facilitating the efficient delivery of operations in line with financial, statutory and regulatory requirements and obligations. The role will lead the Group's Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO) and oversee treasury and forecasting activities.
Specific responsibilities will include:
* Develop and support delivery of group business strategy & planning, ensuring alignment to purpose, values and strategic priorities.
* Support the development, implementation, monitoring/reporting and evaluation of operational budgets and planning.
* Management of the group capital management activities (including ICAAP) ensuring that relevant operational procedures are adhered to.
* Lead the Assets & Liabilities Committee (ALCO) activities ensuring timely and prudent decision regarding products and pricing that is aligned with organisational constitutional and strategic objectives.
* Support the development of business processes and recommendations and effective business decision making through provision of financial forecasting, reporting, analysis and challenge.
* Lead team enablement and capability uplift through coaching, mentoring and professional development programs and frameworks.
* Oversee the application of finance functions, including the preparation of provision of related Board and management reports as required.
Candidate Experience
* Relevant experience and formal qualifications (degree) in Finance/Accounting including CPA or CA.
* Demonstrated finance experience within banking and financial services at a senior level, with relevant knowledge, understanding and application of industry statutory requirements and regulations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience in liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong financial and business acumen and ability to think strategically.
* Demonstrated ability to prepare and evaluate capital expenditure and long-range financial plans and forecasts.
* Experience in treasury and liquidity management within financial services.
* Experience in preparing, monitoring and presenting budgets, reports and information to a variety of stakeholders, including Board, management and broader groups.
*Please note this position is based in Shepparton, Victoria. Hybrid working is supported, but the role will require the incumbent to be office based circa three days p/w.
