The Role
As our Manager Operational Support – Sewer, you'll lead a high-performing team of engineers and scientists dedicated to improving the performance and reliability of TasWater's sewage treatment systems. This strategic and technical leadership role is central to delivering excellent customer outcomes and driving innovation across our sewer operations.
You'll provide expert guidance, manage complex scientific and engineering programs, and champion the adoption of new technologies to improve treatment plant performance and reduce business risk. You'll also play a key role in mentoring staff, building capability, and fostering a culture of ownership, safety, and continuous improvement.
* Leading and developing a skilled, performance-focused technical team within Operations
* Managing the Operational Support program for sewage systems aligned with strategic objectives
* Applying innovative technical methods to solve complex process challenges
* Trialling and implementing new technologies to improve efficiency, reduce risk and contribute to TasWater's strategic focus on Healthy Land and Waterways and Sustainability
* Supporting operational staff to improve system performance and compliance
* Preparing reports and documentation for executive and technical audiences
* Ensuring environmental, customer, and community impacts are considered in all decisions

* A degree in Engineering or Science relevant to water and sewerage systems
* Proven experience leading teams and managing change
* Experience setting goals and holding self and others to account
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
* Experience applying engineering and/or scientific principles to optimise treatment process performance
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and safety practices
* A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation
