Overview
Our client is a well-established organisation, recognised in their industry for delivering best-in-class services across their operations. They are currently undertaking a significant uplift of their fleet and maintenance capability and are seeking an experienced Fleet Service Manager to join the team and play a key role in this transformation.
The focus of the role is leading the maintenance, reliability, and compliance of a diverse fleet of diesel trucks and mobile plant, working closely with operational leaders, workshops, and external service providers to ensure maximum uptime, safety, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing the day-to-day servicing, maintenance, and repair of mobile plant and diesel truck fleets
* Ownership of P&L
* Building and owning the relationship with key clients
* Developing and executing preventative maintenance strategies to minimise downtime
* Leading and mentoring internal maintenance teams and coordinating external service providers
* Ensuring fleet compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental requirements
* Managing maintenance budgets, forecasting costs, and driving cost-control initiatives
* Analysing fleet performance data to identify reliability and efficiency improvements
* Implementing systems and processes to improve asset utilisation and lifecycle management
* Working closely with operations to align maintenance activities with business priorities
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives across fleet and workshop operations
Qualifications and experience
The successful candidate will bring strong experience as a Fleet Service or Maintenance Manager within a complex operational environment, with a proven ability to manage large fleets of diesel vehicles and or mobile plant. You will have a hands-on approach, strong leadership capability, and the ability to balance operational demands with long-term fleet strategy.
You will be well versed in preventative maintenance programs, compliance management, and fleet performance reporting, with the ability to influence stakeholders and deliver measurable improvements in uptime, safety, and cost efficiency.
Experience working with heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment, or specialised mobile plant is essential. Exposure to Logistics, Transport, Mining, Construction, Infrastructure, or Industrial services environments will be highly regarded.
