A family in Newcastle is seeking a caring and energetic nanny to support their two-year-old during Monday through Thursday workdays. The child has developmental delays and is not yet verbal or fully mobile. Daily care includes expressive interaction, playful engagement, and support for mobility and sensory activities. The nanny may assist with transportation to therapy appointments and preschool. A friendly Samoyed dog is present; no pet care is required. The family values warmth, energy, and developmental play within routines.
About You
You are an expressive, engaging, and proactive caregiver who enjoys being active and playful with young children. You bring visible enthusiasm, with smiling, emotive, and communicative interaction. You are comfortable lifting 20–30 lbs, have a safe driving record, and can transport children to appointments and preschool. The ideal nanny is reliable, communicative, easygoing, and feels like part of the family.
Job Duties
- Daily care includes engaging activities, preparing meals, assisting with feeding, planning sensory and mobility activities, and supporting the child through therapy exercises.
- Transport to therapy sessions and preschool; engage in play at home and in the community (parks, playgrounds, libraries).
- Light household support such as cleaning, meal prep, and tidying; preschool attendance is 2.5 hours/day beginning late fall.

Qualifications
- Multiple years of experience with young children.
- Up to date on vaccines such as Covid, MMR, and Tdap.

- Glowing references from recent nanny positions.

Note: All applicants must first interview with a Jovie specialist. Qualifying applicants will meet the family prior to being hired.
Working Conditions and Requirements
- Active, kid-centric work environment including cleanup of activities.
- Some time may be spent outside with active play, weather permitting.
- Essential Physical Requirements:
- Regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, and pushing.
- Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely.
- Must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day.
- Ability to react quickly and calmly to emergent situations.
