About The Role
* Reporting to the Manager Engineering Design and Technical Services, you will support the planning, investigation and management of traffic, transport, parking and road safety matters across the Wagga Wagga local government area.
* Working within Council's Transport & Traffic team, you will assist with the preparation and implementation of key strategic plans and contribute to evidence based engineering decisions that improve safety, accessibility and movement across the local road network.
* This role is ideal for a motivated graduate seeking structured development, mentoring and exposure to a broad range of traffic and transport projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Contribute to major traffic and transport strategies, including road safety, freight, integrated transport and pedestrian plans.
* Support investigations, assessments and customer enquiries relating to traffic, parking and road safety across the local road network.
* Collect, manage and analyse traffic, parking and crash data to support evidence based engineering decisions.
* Assist with development, NHVR and event application reviews, including concept level traffic control, signage and line marking plans.
* Support road safety initiatives, stakeholder engagement, Local Traffic Committee activities and ongoing professional development.
What You Will Need To Succeed
* Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) – completed or near completion, preferably with exposure to traffic or transport subjects.
* Class C Driver's Licence
* General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card) or willingness to obtain.
* Foundational knowledge of traffic engineering principles, road safety and transport systems.
* Ability to collect, analyse and interpret data with strong attention to detail.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
