About the role We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Asset Financial Officer to provide high-level technical and financial support in the implementation of asset management across Council. This role plays a key part in ensuring the effective use of systems and processes to support strategic asset planning, financial reporting, and operational decision-making. Role accountabilities include: Support the delivery of Council’s asset management objectives by maintaining accurate financial records and systems related to capital works and asset revaluations. Perform end-of-year asset financial activities and ensure timely reconciliation of transactions within the Asset Management System. Access and analyse data across asset and finance systems to support reporting, decision-making, and operational efficiency. Assist with the completion and financial closure of capital works projects, ensuring compliance with internal processes and timelines. Provide system support to users and contribute to asset-related projects and panels, including the Financial Asset Information Review (FAIR) Panel. Holding an Advanced Diploma or higher in Accounting, Asset Management, or Program Management, you bring relevant experience and a practical understanding of financial systems and processes. A current Driver Licence and Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People Registration are essential for this role. Your expertise includes budget management, financial reporting, job costing, and asset accounting. You are confident working with complex data, with the ability to interrogate systems and ensure the accuracy and integrity of asset and financial records. Your understanding of asset systems and their maintenance requirements enables you to contribute effectively to operational and strategic outcomes.
