Position Information
Chertsey Primary School, located in Springfield on the Central Coast of NSW, is a co‐educational school of 116 students, offering both mainstream and support classes. The campus features extensive green spaces, two playgrounds, an undercover learning area, a school garden, basketball courts, a large field, and a well‐equipped library. The school maintains strong partnerships with local educational groups, including the AECG Tjudibaring and the Erina Learning Community, with 20% of students identifying as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
Chertsey Primary also operates Chertseydale Cottage, a community and learning space that hosts before and after school care, with potential for community connection. With a focus on safety, belonging, and strong home–school partnerships, the school aims to nurture students' cognitive, social, emotional, spiritual, and physical growth. Its strategic directions, developed with input from the community and AECG, are centred on excellence in student growth, wellbeing, and community partnerships, supported by quality literacy and numeracy programs and effective wellbeing systems.
Specific Selection Criteria

* Demonstrated ability to develop a professional environment where staff are encouraged to be curious about their impact. Leading teachers in the collective sharing of data, expertise, and feedback to constantly improve classroom practice and student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
* Build community trust through open, proactive, and culturally responsive communication. Demonstrate leadership visibility and clearly articulate the school's vision, celebrate student growth, and position the school as a high‐performing, inclusive hub.
* Lead a whole‐school commitment to excellence by implementing the High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) policy, fostering an environment where students are active partners in their own growth.
General Selection Criteria
* High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education.
* Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programmes.
* High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community.
* Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning.
* Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning.
* Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school's RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P1 for 2026.
