Overview

Welcome to Southern. Employment Type: Permanent Part Time. Location: Goulburn. Position Classification: Social Worker Level 3. Remuneration: $56.69 - $58.52 per hour. Hours per Week: 6.


What you'll be doing

The ED Social Worker is an integral part of the multidisciplinary health care team, providing specialist response services to patients/clients of the SNSW Local Health District to meet their health and wellbeing needs. This position is primarily based in the Emergency Department and supports an integrated response in accordance with patient needs.

Join our team to support patients and their families through complex social and emotional challenges, connecting them with resources and advocacy to empower during vulnerable times.


Responsibilities

* Provide crisis support and ongoing counselling with trauma-informed responses to victims of interpersonal trauma and their families.
* Develop and maintain effective, professional community networks.
* Demonstrate high-level written and oral communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
* Prioritise work, manage stressful situations, and work independently.
* Prioritise professional development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
* Possess a current unrestricted driver's licence and willingness to drive/travel as required, including long distances or overnight stays.


Selection Criteria

* Tertiary qualification as a Social Worker and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
* Feminine gender is a genuine occupational requirement (Section 31 Anti-Discrimination Act 1977).
* Demonstrated skills in crisis support and ongoing counselling with trauma-informed responses.
* Ability to develop and maintain effective community networks.
* High-level communication, negotiation and advocacy skills.
* Ability to prioritise work, manage stressful situations and work unsupervised.
* Ability to prioritise and organise professional development, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
* Current unrestricted driver's licence and willingness to drive as required.
