About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and practical lessons to students at Loddon Prison, equipping them with valuable trade skills for future employment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver high-quality education programs tailored to student needs.
* Educate students on workplace safety, proper equipment usage, and industry regulations to ensure compliance.
* Support rehabilitation and career development by helping students build confidence and prepare for employment opportunities post-release.
* Maintain workshop and equipment by overseeing the maintenance and safe operation of welding tools and machinery.
* Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging teamwork, discipline, and problem-solving skills in a supportive setting.
Requirements
* A relevant qualification in Engineering/Welding or a related field.
* TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (AQF 4) or equivalent TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment plus TAELLN411/TAELLN401A Address Adult Language, Literacy & Numeracy Skills, TAEASS502 Design and Develop Assessment Tools.
* Teaching experience in vocational education or correctional settings is desirable.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Comfortable working within an engineering workshop.
* A commitment to student success and rehabilitation through education.
* The ability to work effectively in a secure environment.
