An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to join the Graphics team as a Graphic Designer from June 2025! This position reports to the Creative Services Manager to ensure work production of high quality and efficiency is met.A successful applicant must be enthusiastic, mature-minded, confident, well-presented and able to demonstrate a high level of work-ethic and initiative. Customer Service skills are also a must.Duties include –Ensure all design work (offline + online) adheres to the Australia Zoo brand guidelines.Following art direction that meets marketing objectives and maintains consistency of the Australia Zoo brand and sub-brands.Contribution of ideas and designs for development of the Australia Zoo brand, its sub-brands and promotional items.Design anddevelopwide range of branded merchandise working closely with our retail and management teams.Assist with the creation of new projects from branding and concept formation through to production.Manage every aspect of a job from start to finish and working within the parameters of the traffic system to ensure job details are updated daily.Update existing and create new digital/print documentation and forms for use by a variety of departments throughout the zoo.Create and develop event day themes which tie with the Australia Zoo brand, including print, digital and social assets.Conduct stocktakes of zoo marketing collateral and regulatory/wayfinding signage and animal interpretive signage on a regular basis.Liaise with external suppliers when required.Actively seek new images to better create attention and encapsulate Australia Zoo brandActively seek new marketing/promotional collateral ideas (i.e. brochure ideas, signage types, external displays etc).Ensure all Marketing Department are up to date with image library and understand correct usage of images and branding elements.Ensure timesheets are completed on a weekly basis.Any other duties as requested by Management.Essential Criteria –Experience in similar design roles at a similar level.Experience in print and online production.Experience in retail product design anddevelopmentAvailable to work weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods (e.g. Tuesday to Saturday work week)Strong communication and networking skills.Suitable tertiary qualifications.A proven track record in achieving targets.Customer orientation.Ability to manage multiple tasks and agendas.Capacity to deliver to budget and timeframe.Bachelor degree in Art or Graphic Design or Associate Diploma in Graphic Design (or equivalent).At least 3 years’ experience in a Design and Brand role.Strong understanding of job scheduling and print production.A proven track record of high performance within a brand / design role.Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite CC, in particular InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator in a Mac environment. Knowledge of After Effects would also be an advantage.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs or similar type software.Switched on with a fresh, “can-do” attitude.A high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with staff at all levels.Experience working with vinyl and vinyl installation.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.Preferred Criteria –Current Advanced 1stAid QualificationsAny other relevant certificates
