What you'll do?
As a Security Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving system issues efficiently, conducting thorough testing and preventative maintenance, and providing clear documentation of all work performed. By combining technical expertise with strong client support, this role contributes directly to building trust, maintaining secure environments, and supporting the growth of our company's reputation as a leader in security solutions.
The purpose of the Security Technician role is to ensure the safety and protection of our commercial clients by delivering expert installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced security systems. This position plays a critical role in safeguarding businesses through reliable operation of CCTV, access control, alarm, and intercom systems, while upholding the highest standards of technical precision and customer service.
* Install and service CCTV, access control, alarm, and intercom systems.
* Conduct site surveys and risk assessments to recommend appropriate security solutions.
* Diagnose and repair system issues efficiently to minimise downtime.
* Train clients or end-users on proper operation of security systems.
* Perform routine system testing, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
* Provide excellent customer service and technical support to clients.
* Assist in developing and implementing preventative maintenance schedules for client systems.
* Collaborate with project managers, electricians, and IT teams to deliver integrated solutions.
* Complete accurate job documentation, service records, and reports.
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies during installations and servicing.
What you'll bring?
* Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and servicing security systems including CCTV, alarms, access control, and intercoms.
* Must have a security license and white card - an open cable license is highly desirable.
* Ability to interpret and work from technical diagrams, schematics, and wiring layouts with accuracy.
* Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for clear interaction with clients and team members.
* High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality workmanship.
What else do you need to apply?
* Travel on-site to our office in Notting Hill and to client sites across Melbourne.
* Must be an Australian resident available to work full time without restrictions
