Here's what you'll be up to...
City Planning has an extensive and exciting work program and we are after a Planner to contribute to, and assist with, the delivery of the significant growth happening in Penrith. As a Planner, you will provide support to senior planning staff across land-use, statutory and policy planning projects by undertaking research, preparing reports and plans.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders, the Planner supports transparent, evidence-based planning processes and contributes to the delivery of infrastructure, jobs, and housing that align with Council's long-term vision.

What are we looking for?
An enthusiastic and motivate team player to join our team as a Planner on a permanent full-time basis (35 hours per week). As a Planner in the team, we are looking for someone who has the following:
* Completed or nearly completed tertiary qualifications in Planning or a related field
* An understanding of the NSW statutory planning framework and other relevant legislation
* Team participation and project coordination skills
* Sound negotiation, communication and customer liaison skills
* Ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and to complete projects within designated timeframes
* Experience working in a local government environment in planning or related field
* Relevant work experience in planning policy formulation
* Current Class Driver's Licence
The must-know bits
You will be required to undertake employment checks, which may include a Criminal History Check, Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test, as relevant to the position for which you have applied.
Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes, you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council, for review, to progress through the recruitment process.
