Support Children and Families
Our organisation is seeking a dedicated professional to provide trauma-informed therapeutic interventions and counselling to children and young people affected by domestic and family violence.
The successful candidate will have experience working with children and young people in a therapeutic context, and be committed to critical reflection and professional supervision. A strong understanding of developmental stages across childhood and adolescence, as well as practical knowledge of a range of counselling models, including trauma-informed practice, is highly valued.
* Develop and deliver trauma-informed counselling and group work interventions
* Support carers of child witnesses through advocacy and information sharing
* Engage in safety planning and crisis response as part of an integrated DFV model
* Coordinate with police and other services through embedded response work
* Facilitate community education and stakeholder engagement in the region
* Maintain accurate client records, reports, and data entries
* Provide occasional leave relief across Cairns, Atherton, Mossman, and court settings
