The Portfolio Development Team is responsible for transitioning EnergyAustralia's portfolio, aligning with our purpose of leading the energy transformation.
About the Role
We seek a Technical Lead (Project Development) to drive the technical delivery of utility scale storage and generation projects from feasibility through to financial close.
* Coordinate and review technical outputs from consultants, OEMs, and project partners.
* Instruct and review layouts, SLDs, and engineering deliverables to align with EA's design philosophy and objectives.
* Work with the Procurement team on the procurement of EPC packages.
* Provide engineering input into connection application processes.
* Liaise with grid connection teams to optimise design for compliance and performance.
* Manage and coordinate third-party consultants and technical advisors.
* Utilise experience and knowledge in the analysis of costs, benefits, risks, and future business opportunities.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will have a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with prior technical experience. Strong people skills, stakeholder management, and prioritisation abilities are essential.
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Renewable, or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred).
* Strong understanding of battery energy storage technologies and applications.
* Experience working on hybrid projects is highly regarded.
* Familiarity with different contract structures and negotiation processes.
* Experience leading technical efforts to drive projects to financial close.
* Working knowledge of grid connection processes and NER requirements.
* Conceptual and analytical thinker able to provide simple solutions.
* Track record of leading technical due diligence on greenfield sites or acquisitions.
