Our estimating team is committed to high‑quality project delivery through careful assessment, planning, adherence to documentation, critical‑path progression, cost control, and partnership with the wider project team to ensure a smooth handover to the delivery phases.
The Role
* Assist in preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects
* Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand project scope and requirements
* Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to gather necessary information for accurate estimations
* Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors
* Participate in pre‑bid meetings and site visits to gain a comprehensive understanding of project requirements
* Maintain and update estimating databases and records
* Support in the development of project budgets and schedules
* Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders throughout the estimating process
* Stay updated on industry trends, construction materials, and best practices
Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a construction related field
* Minimum 10 years experience as an Estimator in Sydney, with familiarity with local subcontractors and processes
* Good understanding of the tender and estimation process, with the ability to learn quickly and be adaptable to client requirements
* Understanding of RFIs, BOQs and ability to read drawings & measurements
* Extremely high attention to detail and quality
* Familiarity with estimating software such as CostX/Buildsoft Cubit
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Happy to work in a team of 5 estimators and collaborate with your colleagues in the existing team
* Applicants without experience working in Australia or who have only worked for a subcontractor will not be the right fit for this role
