FINANCE OFFICER - RATES
Your New Role
This position is responsible for managing the Shire’s property and rating functions, including maintaining accurate records, issuing and reconciling rates and charges, processing pensioner rebates, and supporting debt recovery. The role also provides high-quality customer service to ratepayers and internal staff, prepares reports and reconciliations for financial management, and ensures compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures
What you’ll need to succeed
The successful applicant will have:
- Experience in finance, rates, or similar role, with strong reconciliation and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and computerised accounting Systems (SynergySoft desirable).
- Sound knowledge of debt collection practices, rating/property procedures, and relevant legislation.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational service skills, with a high level of confidentiality and integrity.
- A current National Police Clearance and “C” Class Driver’s Licence.

Salary package range of $69,840 - $85,220 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience inclusive of:
- Up to 15% with Council superannuation contribution
- 4 weeks’ annual leave
- Gym membership discount
- Ongoing training and development
