**Role Summary**:
The role of the Disability Support Worker is to work with clients who reside within accommodations provided by St Jude's. You will work closely with multiple clients, developing rapport and forming a lasting, meaningful professional relationship with them. You will work within the NDIS funding framework, assisting them to achieve their goals, increase their independence and participation within the community. You will provide support to people with disability and/or psychosocial needs, enabling them to undertake all aspects of daily living.
**Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Providing assistance with ADL's such as toileting, showering, dressing, cooking and cleaning
- Providing individual support to clients with psychosocial requirements
- Assisting clients with social outings, shopping trips and appointments
- Liaising with the families and representatives of clients as required
- Promoting positive behaviours, learning experiences and skill development
**Skills, Attributes and Experience**:
**Key criteria includes**:
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Proof of working rights - Passport or visa
- Valid driver's licence and a reliable vehicle
- WA Working with Children Check
- Previous experience as a support worker in the health/disability sector or a relevant Cert III qualification is highly desirable but not essential
- Previous experience working with clients who live with mental health issues will be highly regarded
