Salary range varies by role, e.g., Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Counsellor Level 3: $112,396 - $116,038 per annum; Snr Psychologist: $119,206 - $129,171; Clinical Psychologist: $109,247 - $133,156; Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 1: $126,720.87 - $129,314.15.

This is an Identified Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander Position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identify as an Aboriginal person, and be accepted in the community as such. Exemption claimed under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).

About Us

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) offers a range of public health services to the Nepean, Blue Mountains, and Lithgow Region. The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for acute mental health issues, including PECC, the Acute Mental Health Unit, and others. Child, Youth and Family Mental Health (CYF-MH) offers assessment, psychoeducation, clinical support, and specialist treatment, working collaboratively with families to provide trauma-informed, person-centered, and recovery-oriented care.

The Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician is a key member of the Safeguards interdisciplinary team, working clinically with families and ensuring cultural considerations are integrated into mental health care. The role reports to the Safeguards Clinical Lead and is supported culturally by the Aboriginal Mental Health Manager and the Namurugunya Aboriginal mental health team.

Responsibilities include applying clinical expertise to plan, coordinate, and implement evidence-based, trauma-informed assessments and treatments for children, adolescents, and their families.
