At Infinite Aged Care, we pride ourselves on providing an environment that encourages and enables residents to remain independent and live their best lives with Infinite every day! We have a permanent full-time position for a Barista / Cafe Allrounder at our Ipswich facility.
Our Barista / Cafe Allrounder creates a friendly and welcoming environment where residents and their families can socialise over a hot or cold beverage or snack. Typical responsibilities include:
1. Welcoming customers with a warm, friendly, and helpful attitude.
2. Serving a range of snacks including hot and cold sandwiches, cakes, muffins, etc.
3. Preparing and serving hot and cold (non-alcoholic) beverages - a barista certificate and the ability to make excellent coffees are essential.
4. Cleaning kitchen, service areas, and dining areas around the coffee shop.
5. Following and executing daily, weekly, and monthly procedures to maintain high-quality cafe operations.
6. Collaborating with the Chef Manager on supplies needed for the cafe.
7. Ensuring the cafe area is free of hazards, trips, slips, or other safety issues.
8. Maintaining a professional, respectful, and inviting environment that reflects positively on our company.
9. Providing backup support in dining room service when required.
This role is physically demanding, involving bending, squatting, lifting, and pushing items to perform daily tasks safely. It is important that you can carry out these tasks without risk of injury to yourself, colleagues, or residents.
About You
At Infinite Aged Care, we prioritize attitude and aptitude over experience. Formal qualifications like a Cert II in Hospitality are highly regarded but not essential. What matters most is your friendly disposition, willingness to help, and experience in customer service or hospitality roles such as retail, coffee shops, bars, or restaurants.
Additionally, you must have:
* Demonstrated barista and cafe hospitality experience with a passion for friendly customer service.
* A strong safety attitude and the ability to identify and remove hazards.
* The ability to work independently, be a self-starter, confident, and communicate well with others, especially kitchen staff.
* Problem-solving skills, initiative, and the ability to perform at a high standard.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to make people feel welcome.
* Flexibility and good availability to cover shifts.
