Woodlands Enterprises, a long-established family-owned poultry integrator, operating since 1913, is offering a rare opportunity to lease and operate a company-owned broiler farm as an independent business.
This role would suit an experienced broiler grower or a working couple with strong livestock experience who value animal welfare, teamwork and a rural lifestyle.
The Opportunity
The successful applicant will:
* Lease an established 7-shed broiler farm at Woodlands’ Glasshouse Mountains complex.
* Operate as an independent contractor, managing day-to-day farm operations and labour.
* Grow broilers under contract to Woodlands Enterprises, producing birds to agreed welfare, performance and quality standards.
This is a genuine business opportunity, not a wage-based role.
Farm and Infrastructure
* 7 tunnel-ventilated sheds with automated controllers.
* On-site modern 4-bedroom residence included.
* Feed, chicks and technical support supplied by Woodlands Enterprises.
* Backed by a dedicated broiler services, maintenance and support team.
Your Responsibilities
Independently manage all daily farm operations, including:
o Bird care, feeding, ventilation and flock performance.
o Staff employment, supervision and rostering.
Maintain high standards of:
o Animal welfare and RSPCA compliance.
o Biosecurity, hygiene and safety.
Manage farm utilities, routine maintenance and consumables.
Monitor performance data and work collaboratively with Woodlands Enterprises’ broiler team.
Support Provided
You will be supported by:
* Experienced broiler service staff.
* Nutrition, veterinary and technical specialists.
* Centralised feed supply and logistics.
* Maintenance support for major infrastructure.
About You
You will ideally have:
* Proven experience growing broiler chickens (preferred).
* Strong knowledge of animal welfare, biosecurity and compliance standards.
* Experience managing staff and operating a farm business.
* A hands-on, self-motivated approach and willingness to live on-site.
* A commitment to continuous improvement and partnership.
