Located in the newly built Griffith Base Hospital, Cancer Services is a dedicated outpatient unit delivering high-quality cancer care to our local community. We specialise in safe, evidence-based chemotherapy and supportive treatments, with a strong focus on continuity of care in a regional setting.

This permanent Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC1) position offers an exciting opportunity to lead service innovation, support a skilled nursing team, and help shape the future of outpatient cancer care in Griffith.

About The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced CNC in Cancer Care to provide expert leadership and clinical guidance across all aspects of cancer nursing. This role involves:

Leading practice development and policy implementationProviding clinical supervision and mentorship to nursing staffDelivering specialised nursing care and support to patients and families throughout their cancer journeyEngaging in education and research activities to advance cancer care

About You

You are a skilled and empathetic clinician who thrives in a leadership role and is passionate about improving cancer care. You will:

Act as a role model and expert in cancer nursingSupport patients in navigating investigations, treatments, and referralsProvide expert advice to patients, families, and healthcare professionalsContribute to multidisciplinary care planning and attend MDT meetingsCoordinate patient and carer educationLead the development of evidence-based nursing practices

Qualifications & Experience

Registered Nurse with current Authority to Practice (AHPRA)Minimum 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, including at least 3 years in cancer carePostgraduate qualification in oncology nursing (minimum Graduate Certificate/Diploma), or working towards a Master’s degreeDemonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and leadership in cancer care
