About the Role
The Development Engineer will ensure that all developments - government and private are carried out in accordance with appropriate legislative requirements, industry standards, guidelines and represent best value to the Council and Palmerston community.
Working with the Planning and Development Manager, the Development Engineer is responsible for the coordination of a range of programs and services that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan including:
• Government and Private Sector Developments
• Subdivisions
• Permits and approvals.
• Capital works and civil operations including contractor management
• Road safety and traffic management
About you:
To be considered for this role, you should have
* Tertiary / VET level qualifications in Town / Land Planning, Civil Engineering or equivalent and/or membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
* Relevant experience in dealing with a wide range of land use planning policy and development issues, including high levels of competency in the assessment of development applications made under statutory requirements.
* Demonstrated skills in problem solving and resolving complex issues.
* Knowledge of the NT Subdivision Development Guidelines and subdivision, current technology, and design requirements.
* Ability to develop and manage budgets relating to projects and capital programs.
