Long-term contract opportunity for an L1-L2 IT Support Engineer to join a small onsite team within the mining
Your new company
An industry leader in the resources sector is looking for an additional IT Support Engineer to join their onsite technology team onsite in northern Queensland. Due to internal promotions and team realignment, a long-term opportunity has opened to support daily operations across a busy mining environment.
Your new role
You'll join a small onsite IT team as their third team member, providing hands-on Level 1-2 support. Your responsibilities include:
* General L1-L2 IT support
* Building and configuring PCs and hardware
* Troubleshooting and resolving onsite tickets
* Active Directory administration
* User and Service Administration tasks
* Supporting Microsoft-based systems
* Exposure to VMware‑based virtualised servers
What you'll need to succeed
* Ideally Level 2 experience (strong Level 1 candidates also considered)
* Previous experience in mining or heavy industry preferred
* Confident with PC builds, troubleshooting, and end‑user support
* Good working knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft systems
* Comfortable working autonomously in a small onsite team
* Preference for candidates living in or near Mackay - distance travel has proven challenging for previous hires.
