About this Position
The Debt Recovery Officer is responsible for providing efficient, high-quality, and professional service to the organisation, in line with corporate policies, procedures, and legislative requirements. This position sits within the Finance team and is responsible for monitoring Council's debt recovery actions, including negotiating with ratepayers, liaising with Council's debt recovery agent, and monitoring arrangements. Working in an agile environment, this role requires flexibility and close attention to detail and accuracy.
This position is a permanent full-time role, 70 hours per fortnight and will primarily be based at our Corporate Centre in Goonellabah.

What we trust you to deliver
* Highly developed organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, plan and coordinate a range of activities to meet expectations and deadlines
* Excellent broad-ranging computer skills (notably Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook), and an understanding of how IT can be used to improve effectiveness and efficiency
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and customers (internal and external) related to program service delivery
* Conflict resolution & negotiation skills
What you'll need to be successful
* TAFE Certificate Level III or equivalent would be highly regarded, or experience in a similar role
* Excellent customer service skills
* Ability to work well within a team and autonomously
* Capable of performing under pressure

Salary range: $1,301.50 to $1,496.73 per week
