Be the Expert. Shape the Future of Asset Management.
At COSOL, we've spent 25 years helping the world's most asset-intensive organisations get more from their infrastructure. We partner with leaders in utilities, water, energy, mining, oil & gas, and transport to deliver technology and advisory solutions that make reliability possible - because when reliability matters, our clients call us.
Our IBM Maximo practice and looking for a Maximo Functional Principal Consultant who's ready to step into a high-impact, client-facing role where your expertise shapes outcomes at a strategic level.
About the Role
This isn't a heads-down delivery role. As a Functional Principal Consultant, you'll be operating at the intersection of technology, strategy, and client relationships — trusted by clients and respected within the practice.
Your day-to-day will include:
* Acting as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders — asset managers, operations leaders, and IT decision-makers — guiding digital transformation through IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS)
* Leading functional solution architecture and complex design across MAS modules including Manage, Monitor, Predict, and Visual Inspection
* Owning requirements gathering, functional specification design, and solution validation on large-scale, complex Maximo engagements
* Supporting pre-sales and business development — solution demonstrations, scoping workshops, proposals, and tenders
* Identifying opportunities to expand COSOL's footprint within client accounts by connecting evolving business needs to Maximo capabilities and complementary COSOL solutions
* Mentoring and uplifting Associate, Consultant, and Senior Consultant capability across the Maximo practice
* Contributing to practice IP — delivery frameworks, functional methodologies, accelerators, and reusable assets
* Representing COSOL as a Maximo SME in client, industry, and IBM partnership settings
What You'll Bring
* Extensive experience delivering IBM Maximo solutions in a functional consulting capacity — configuration, testing, and deployment across multiple client environments
* Proven expertise in functional solution architecture and complex Maximo system design, including module interdependencies and business process alignment
* Deep knowledge of IBM MAS modules, including Manage and at least one advanced module (Monitor, Predict, or Visual Inspection)
* Strong understanding of asset management business processes — work management, preventive maintenance, inventory and procurement, asset lifecycle management, and condition monitoring
* Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into functional specifications and lead their successful delivery
* A strong track record in client engagement, stakeholder management, and pre-sales support
* The confidence to influence, negotiate, and shape strategic outcomes at senior levels
* Degree in Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline — or equivalent experience
* IBM Maximo certifications (Functional Analyst, MAS specialist, or equivalent)
* Experience with MAS V8/V9, including migrations from Maximo 7.6
* Familiarity with Tririga, Cognos, or IoT/Monitor integration frameworks
* Background in asset-intensive industries: utilities, water, mining, energy, oil & gas, or transport
* Exposure to integration approaches, reporting platforms, and data governance in Maximo environments
* Experience presenting at industry events, IBM forums, or knowledge-sharing settings
* Project management experience across Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies
Why COSOL?
* Join a 25-year-old specialist firm with deep IBM and SAP partnerships and a reputation built on technical excellence
* A practice environment where your IP contributions are valued — methodologies, frameworks, and accelerators you build become part of how we deliver
* Real opportunities for business development involvement — not just delivery
* A collaborative team that supports each other, shares knowledge, and invests in growth
* Work on genuinely complex, meaningful problems in critical infrastructure
