Senior Ecologist/Zoologist Lead - Perth
This is an exciting opportunity to lead ecological/zoological assessments for large-scale capital development projects in Western Australia. As a Senior Ecologist/Zoologist, you will contribute your expertise to support the delivery of projects across various sectors, including mining, oil and gas, renewables, and infrastructure.
The role involves conducting biodiversity values and constraints assessments, rehabilitation monitoring, biodiversity surveys, impact and offset assessments, and ecological management plans. You will also be responsible for environmental analyses and mapping, research, and field surveys.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering high-quality ecological/zoological inputs and directing teams of field surveyors on large-scale projects
* Preparing Biodiversity Stewardship Agreements and providing advice on relevant regulatory frameworks and project approval pathways
* Writing technical environmental reports, proposals, and tenders
* Planning and managing projects with varying complexity and scale
* Mentoring junior staff and assisting with their professional development
In order to succeed in this role, you will require extensive experience in biodiversity impact assessment, leading ecological/zoological inputs, and directing teams of field surveyors. A strong understanding of Western Australian regional ecosystems and State/Commonwealth regulatory frameworks and policy is also essential.
