Our well-established maintenance team based in Bowen are currently seeking a Signal Electrician to join their team on a permanent full‐time basis.
As a Signal Electrician you will carry out the installation, maintenance, and repair of signalling equipment as well as report on the performance and condition of signalling assets. You will play a key role in achieving our vision of delivering world‐class rail services for our customers by ensuring the safety and reliability of our assets and services.
Working out of our Bohle depot and reporting to the Wayside Systems Coordinator, you will be joining a large team of signal electricians and apprentices. The Townsville team maintains various signalling assets spanning 250 km of the North Coast line.

Purpose that counts – Key responsibilities
* Install, maintain, repair and adjust electrical signalling equipment.
* Undertake scheduled maintenance activities on signalling equipment.
* Attend signalling failures to analyse, repair and report on cause of failures.
* Maintain records and documentation relating to signal maintenance and costing systems.
* Report on actual work performed against the scheduled work programme and report any equipment irregularities.
* Work predominately between the hours of 0715 to 1615 on a 9‐day fortnight.
We are looking to connect with someone who has
* Certificate IV Railway Signalling
* A current Queensland Electrical Mechanic Licence or interstate equivalent that can be changed over prior to starting
* Low Voltage Rescue (12‐month) certificate
* Experience in the installation, maintenance and fault rectification of signalling equipment
* Capacity to travel and work within regional Queensland
