About the Role:
We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our team In this role, you'll be responsible for sourcing and purchasing plumbing supplies to ensure stock levels meet the needs of our customers and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Source and purchase plumbing materials and fittings from approved suppliers
* Maintain appropriate inventory levels across product lines
* Liaise with suppliers to negotiate delivery schedules
* Assist with general warehousing duties including putting stock away, maintaining a clean and organised warehouse
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve any supply-related issues
* Collaborate with sales teams to forecast demand
* Maintain accurate records of purchases and inventory
* Ensure compliance with internal purchasing procedures and budgets
Requirements:
* Experience in plumbing or building supplies is preferred but not necessary and will provide training to the right candidate
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills
* High attention to detail and strong organisational abilities
* Proficiency with inventory and procurement software
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
