What You Will Do
We're looking for a dedicated Handyperson to assist with general repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel, helping to keep everything running smoothly and looking its best. If you're someone who enjoys hands-on tasks, solves problems with care, and wants to be part of creating memorable guest experiences, we'd love to have you on our team.
Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests and team members in compliance with regulatory policies and procedures
Assist guests needs to ensure their satisfaction
Maintain and order parts and supplies while minimising waste and supporting green initiatives
May be responsible for hotel security to minimise risk of theft, crime and other hazards
General maintenance and upkeep of the hotel premises
Minor repairs of non-gas or non-electrical kitchen equipment
Understanding of air conditioning principles
Minor plumbing (e.g., tap washers, toilet flushers and seals)
Minor carpentry work (e.g., installation of skirting boards)
Minor painting work and repairs to wallpaper
Changing light globes, maintaining in-house television and movie system, and room automation system
Minor bathroom repairs (e.g., grouting, tile repairs, silicone replacement, minor water damage)
What We Need From You
Full working rights in Australia without restrictions (sponsorship not available for this role)
Some college or advanced vocational training preferred
Experience in general building maintenance and/or construction or equivalent education/experience; hotel experience preferred
Good understanding of products and equipment used throughout the working day; ability to use equipment safely
Certifications include Level 3 EPA Certification, HVAC and refrigeration certificate; licensed plumber and/or journeyman status for electrician and carpenter may be required
Professional certification and licence if required by law
Passion for providing luxury experiences and ability to personalise guest stays
Ongoing availability to work flexibly as rostered, including nights, weekends and public holidays
Impeccable grooming standards and good personal hygiene
Organised approach and ability to handle large amounts of information and multiple requests
Physical fitness to be on your feet most of the day, with ability to lift, push and pull objects up to 23 kg
