What you'll do - Disability Support Worker
Hireup is seeking highly motivated and empathetic individuals to provide comprehensive support to a wonderful client living in Mayfield, Tasmania.
Our client is a quadriplegic individual requiring assistance with all aspects of daily living. This role demands a high level of care and attention to detail. No prior experience is necessary, just a readiness to learn.
Your Key Responsibilities:
Personal Care: Assist with hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
Manual Handling: Safely use equipment for transfers and repositioning.
Stoma Care: Manage and provide care for a stoma.
Supra-pubic Catheter Care: Manage and maintain a supra-pubic catheter.
Medication Administration: Assist with or administer medications according to medication pack.
Communication: Maintain high-level verbal and written communication with client and team.
Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support respectfully.
Household Assistance: Assist with light household tasks.
Teamwork: Contribute to the success of the whole support team.
Your Qualities:
Reliable and punctual
Patient and empathetic
Proactive and observant
Respectful of privacy and dignity
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Current Shift Availability:
7am-11am, 7 days a week
Active overnight shift, once per fortnight
Possibility for more hours throughout the week
