About the role
Brisbane Private Hospital currently has 2 positions available for experienced Theatre Orderly Team Leaders to join our established team. We have 1 full time permanent position and 1 full time fixed term position available for 6 months. Both roles involve working across a rotating roster, involving AM and PM shifts.
As a Team Leader you will ensure consistency and continuous workflow between the various Operating Theatre and CSSD whilst practising excellent customer service and maintaining the high operational standards within the Peri‑Operative area.
You will report to the Theatre NUM and work closely with a friendly professional team.
Responsibilities
* Ability to lead a team to achieve tasks in a timely manner
* Ensuring the standards of infection control are followed at all times
* Rostering & allocating team members
* Transporting patient to and from the peri‑operative suite assisting within the operating theatre as delegated by the nursing team
* Providing assistance with patient manual handling ensuring patient trolleys / beds are available in recovery at a timely manner
* Undertaking cleaning of the operating theatre between cases as per facility protocols
* Restocking and unpacking as delegated and waste removal from peri‑operative suite
* (equipment manage and knowledge of how much and working)

Brisbane Private is a 181 bed acute and rehabilitation hospital with 17 operating theatres conveniently located above the Roma Street Parklands. Specialties include neurosurgery, orthopaedics, spinal, plastics, urology, ENT, rehabilitation and general surgery and delivery of Brisbane’s leading private drug and alcohol programs from Damascus Health Services.
Essential Criteria
* Minimum 2 years experience working in a hospital as an Orderly
* Ability to work morning, afternoon, late, weekend and on‑call shifts
* Demonstrated knowledge of Theatre Environment
* Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
* Intermediate computer literacy skills – including MS Office and various databases
* An interest in promoting best practice patient care
* A focus on professional development
* Ability to work independently and within a team
* Ability to prioritise jobs and work to timelines
* Ability to anticipate peri‑operative unit non‑clinical needs and respond accordingly
