This is a 9 month fixed term, full-time position commencing June 2026 with possible extension and/or permanency. It may be situated at Narrogin or Northam and does not include Government Regional Officer Housing (GROH) accommodation.
Regional and Local Education Offices form a critical network that supports public schools across the State. The offices provide guidance, promote system‐wide initiatives and deliver targeted support to improve student outcomes, strengthen school performance, enhance operational effectiveness, and ensure schools meet the diverse needs of their communities.
Role
The role serves as the first point of contact for school administrators, providing accurate, high‐level advice to support the effective management of daily school operations in line with relevant legislation and Departmental policies. It delivers professional, administrative and operational support to Directors of Education while maintaining a strong customer service focus to manage enquiries, concerns and complaints efficiently. The role also coordinates communication between schools, the regional office and central office, prepares high‐quality correspondence such as briefings, reports and responses for the Minister, Directors of Education and senior executives. It supports the implementation of system‐wide strategies and programs, collaborates with school support services and builds effective relationships with schools, other agencies, industry and the broader community to promote a positive image of the Department. The role contributes to monitoring, reviewing and reporting on regional performance against Departmental objectives and represents the Director of Education and the Department on committees and working groups when required. Any staff supervision responsibilities include managing performance and leave entitlements in accordance with relevant public sector standards, agreements and Departmental policies.
