Job Title: HSE Consultant
We are seeking a skilled Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) consultant to join our team. This role will be responsible for assisting in the interpretation and integration of HSE requirements into project planning, design, construction, and operations.
The successful candidate will provide input and technical guidance, assist with communications, track performance trends, and conduct inspections and monitoring. They will help keep employees safe by contributing to continuous improvement of project health and safety.
Major Responsibilities:
* Assist in the execution of the safety component of an ESH Program, inclusive of technical and administrative aspects.
* Help prepare and implement Safety and Health Management Plans, associated plans and procedures, and training programs.
* Provide input to Engineering, Construction, Procurement, Subcontracts, Commissioning, and other groups to ensure that safety and health requirements are integrated within project planning and execution.
* Interpret safety and health requirements and provide comprehensive assistance on plan preparation, risk assessment, and ESH program execution.
* Research moderately complex issues and regulatory requirements and prepare documentation and reports.
* Provide support and guidance for safety studies, risk assessments, and program reviews and audits.
* Participate in emergency response and incident investigation and resolution.
* Interface and communicate with stakeholders and help resolve their concerns.
* Participate in meetings with customers, team members, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
* Conduct ESH inspections and monitoring to identify hazards and risks, evaluate controls and corrective actions, and assess compliance with contract, regulatory, project, and company requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A degree or graduate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related science/engineering area related to occupational safety or health.
* 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
* Proficiency in assisting construction with development of risk assessments and associated job hazard analysis.
* Intermediate knowledge and use of Microsoft software applications.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to work respectfully in a diverse team environment.
* Previous refinery/chemical/LNG plant construction HSE experience is preferred.
