About the Role:
The Client Services Director provide leadership that supports the achievement of Ngwala's strategic goals through the design, delivery and growth of innovative, culturally appropriate and client focussed services. They have overall responsibility for the strategy and forward planning for Ngwala's client outreach services including advocating on behalf of the organisation with stakeholders such as funding bodies and the community. They also ensure operational standards are maintained and contractual, legislation and accreditation obligations are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
* Lead region-based Program Managers to ensure they offer consistent, best practice, culturally appropriate services to clients.
* Ensure Program Managers deliver continuous support to the outreach workers assisting Aboriginal people through programs aimed at improving Social and Emotional Wellbeing including Alcohol and Other Drugs and Justice.
* Ensure staff are trained with relevant skills and knowledge to deliver appropriate and culturally safe outreach services which support holistic care to address the social determinants of health
* Ensure the model of care is contemporary, documented to ensure consistency and reviewed on a regular basis with individuals, teams and clients/carers
* Coordinating and participating in the compilation of budgets and forecasts, and presenting them to higher management for approval.
Service provision
* Build and maintain relationships with funders, community and other relevant stakeholders to identify new or improved service solutions and programs
* Identify cross region and state-wide areas of opportunity to develop programs and services and to secure additional funding opportunities
* Lead service design and planning across all regions
* Identify areas that require improvement through observation, audits, incidents and staff feedback
* Implement appropriate models consistently, supporting staff development where required
General Duties
* Be available to take up additional responsibility as directed by the CEO

* Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) evaluation and activities.
* Participate and engage in ongoing professional development and staff training need analysis

Physical Demands
* This position requires driving and sitting for extended periods of time, operating office equipment, climbing stairs, at times lifting, and other related physical demands. Staff are responsible to only undertake physical duties they deem safe

Skills & Experience:
* Experience in working at a senior management level, demonstrating exceptional practice leading in organisations and managing teams
* Demonstrated commitment to Aboriginal cultural safety principles and practices;
* Understanding of and commitment to the Aboriginal community
* Knowledge of best practice health and/or social service delivery models and national frameworks.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with others, with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
* The ability to evaluate and plan; develop solutions and implement actions in collaboration with others
* Knowledge in developing, implementing and administering effective policies, procedures, guidelines and systems.
* Ability to preserve confidentiality in a professional and respectful manner
* Ability and commitment to be flexible, adaptable and willing to help with other duties in other areas if required for essential business continuity.
Mandatory Requirements:
• Current Victorian driver's licence
• National Police Certificate (not older than 3 months)
• Victorian Employment Working with Children Check
