Trainer / Assessor – Civil Construction
Civil Safety is a successful Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering training across the Mining, Civil Construction, Oil & Gas, and Primary Industries.
We offer a wide range of programs through face-to-face, blended, online, and refresher delivery, supporting both individuals and organisations nationwide.
Our Cairns / Mareeba / Weipa region is currently seeking a Trainer / Assessor with strong hands-on experience in practical skills. Licence in EWP and Forklift and advantage. This role includes travel to regional and remote communities to deliver high-quality training programs.
This position requires regional travel commitments of 25-50% of working time.
Role Description
Civil Safety is seeking a proactive and adaptable Trainer to deliver training across Cairns / Mareeba / Weipa region.
Key responsibilities include:
* Deliver training and assessment across a range of agricultural and and construction programs
* Facilitate engaging, practical, and interactive learning experiences
* Support students with varying language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) needs
* Develop and update training materials to ensure relevance and compliance
* Maintain accurate training records and assessment documentation
* Ensure all training and assessment practices align with RTO standards and compliance requirements
* Collaborate with internal teams and subject matter experts to stay current with industry trends
* Provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner development
Required Qualifications & Experience
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or willingness to obtain
* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment must be obtained within 6 months of commencement if not already held.
* Minimum 1-2 years hands-on experience in civil construction, trades, Agriculture or building industry required.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse and modern learner groups
* A proactive, adaptable, and self-driven approach
* Ability to work independently and manage training delivery requirements
* Current driver's licence and willingness to travel
